The Screamer 3G is the third evolution of Epic’s four-line, high-powered freestyle SLE kite. It gives advanced-level riders an adrenalin-pumping experience with its high-powered, big-boosting character. The Screamer is not for the faint of heart, as de-power is minimized, and big boost and glide optimized; it had some of the biggest gliding boosts of any kite in the test. Fully powered through the sweeping turns, testers got vertically yarded with this kite through the loop. The power could be shut off more abruptly than most freestyle kites, which was helpful in certain situations. The Screamer had direct feedback so it was always known where the kite was in the sky. Thankfully, if you did have to bail out, thinking you should have landed already, the Epic Screamer was one of the best of the group for quick and easy water relaunch.
WHAT THE SBC TEST TEAM RIDERS ARE SAYING “Good relaunch, high-performance jumper that rides like Dimitri. Less de-power than the Epic Renegade.” “If you like going big and soaring around to catch the bird’s eye view of the beach, this kite lets you soar like an eagle chasing a plover.”
On/off Power When the bar is sheeted-out abruptly, the heavy power can dump rather quickly, which takes some time to adjust to.
