On the Water
The Eclipse crew has designed some boards here that should prove
popular amongst their many followers. The Saber is the do-it-all
freeride board that delivers a butter-smooth ride while maintaining the
performance characteristics Eclipse is famous for. The Sabre is a
first-time buyer board, one of the lightest in the test, with an easy
cruising feel to it. Its ample size allowed for cruising upwind easily
and it has good early planning ability. Not recommended for aggressive
wakestyle riders with flex and shape geared towards intermediates to
advanced freeriders. The combination of flex and concave seem to smooth
out the chop nicely and there’s no worry of face splashing or other
funky things going on. Good all-around freeride board for the masses.
Board Construction
The Eclipse Sabre is built using the snowboard style construction with rounded-off ABS sidewalls and PVC composite core. The wild Eclipse graphics are screen printed inside the deck making them slider proof. There are reinforcements around the stance load sections that contribute to it’s unique state-of-the-art flex pattern.
