The SBC Kiteboard test team is riding out Hurricane Sandy in Waves, NC at the aptly named Waterman's Retreat at Real Kiteboarding. It has been a windy and wet couple of days with 40-65 knot winds and driving rain. The test team remains cut off from the mainland for the second day, with the ocean overwashing the only Highway off the island.

The houses at Mirlo beach that have been taking a beating too. The second one from the North fell into the Atlantic yesterday afternoon.
High surf and 35 knot winds continue to pound the Outer Banks today, with some serious Sound Side flooding reported. Currently at the SBC test site at the Waterman's Retreat, the sound level water has risen 3-4 feet and appears to be starting to rise again.
