IKO Offers Supplemental Kiteboarding Demos on Video
IKO Now Offers Quality Videos Demonstrating
Discovery, Intermediate and Independent Kiting Techniques.
Cabarete, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic June 27, 2012:IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) today announced high quality instructional videos demonstrating kiteboarding skills are now available exclusively to its members online. While these videos are not intended to take the place of an IKO instructional live course, they will provide demos for the beginning, intermediate and independent kiteboarder.
“IKO is committed to providing the safest and most thorough instruction,” explained Fred Bene, president/CEO of IKO. “Seeing a skill demonstrated can help you perform it with confidence and ease, and keep you safe by observing the correct execution of the skill.” These IKO videos can be watched over and over until a kiteboarder is certain of the technique and how he or she wants to perform it.
The additional titles are Basic Flying Skills, Launch and Land the Trainer Kite, Untwist The Lines, Pre-flight Check, Full control of De-Power, Self-Land, Water Re-Launch, Body Drag, Self-rescue, Upwind Body Drag, steady Pull, Learn to Water start, Controlled Stop, Right of Way Rules, Control the Riding Speed, Change Direction, Self-Launch, Learn to Do a Jump and Land. The viewer canchoose the videos that suit his level of experience and once he has mastered the techniques shown, take a live course in the next level and watch the videos for that experience level.
IKO encourages all its members and all kiteboard riders to check out these videos and learn the techniques. Instructors will find the videos helpful for teaching these skills. By watching how the move is performed, explained and detailed, instructors now have a new and amazing teaching tool that will help their students learn easier.
Kiteboarding is considered an extreme water sport powered by the wind combining all the thrills of paragliding, windsurfing and wakeboarding. IKO establishes the highest safety standards for the industry and legitimizes kiteboarding schools and instructors all over the world. Anyone can become an IKO member and even learn to kiteboard with the proper instruction.
