KB4girls 2012 World Tour accompanies female participants through final KTA (Kite Tour Asia) competition of the year
Asian Champions and Tour winners determined in Course Race and Freestyle disciplines.
Santander: The second KB4girls 2012 World Tour event in cooperation with the KTA (Kite Tour Asia) finished successfully when the competition in Pranburi, Thailand came to an end last night and the Asian champions in Kiteboard Course Racing and Freestyle were honored.
During the first 3 days of the KTA competition the female competitors received tips, tricks and guidance from KB4girls founder and multiple times World Champion Kristin Boese. The competition coaching theory prior to the start of the competition was separated into course race and freestyle coaching while all girls were brought together for social time and a wakeboarding session to bond together as a group. During the contest each girl was then supervised as much as possible.
Kristin Boese says: “The KB4girls event in cooperation with the KTA is always very special for me and very different to all the other KB4girls GLOBAL events in many ways. Having been competing for the past 10 years now, it is such a pleasure to see new girls joining competitions every year and to be able to pass on as much of my experience as possible. The most important thing for me though is to create a real group feel between all the female competitors, as false competitiveness can be intimidating for new girls on the scene. It was simply great to see how well all the girls got along with each other and how supportive they were towards each other after getting to know each other a bit better. I had a great time watching and supporting the girls and hope they did too.”
All female competitors delivered a great show during the competition and showcased their skills. Congratulations go to all female competitors for their incredible achievements. The podium places for the 3 different disciplines read as follows:
1st place Kristin Oja
2nd place Susan Kay
3rd place Ali Dudfield
1st place Michalina Laskowska
2nd place Rebecka Maudal
3rd place Dina Muldasheva
1st place Kathrin Borgwardt
2nd place Rahel Holliger
3rd place Astrid Berz
While the Course Board Racing class also represents the Asian Championship podium, the Asian Freestyle Champions were determined by the season’s overall ranking. Congratulations also go to the female Asian Champions:
1st place Aya Oshima
2nd place Paula Rosales
3rd place Tien Ye
In addition to improving their competition skills within the KB4girls/KTA event in Pranburi/Thailand, the girls will now also have the chance to return the support by raising funds for the KTA riders grant program that supports Asian kite riders to achieve their dreams. Any donations for the program can be made here (http://www.kb4girls.org/index.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/contribute/pcp/info&reset=1&id=158 <http://www.kb4girls.org/index.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/contribute/pcp/info&reset=1&id=158> )
A huge thanks goes to the KTA for putting together another incredible season for the Asian competitors and to Huaplee Lazy Beach hotel for supporting the KB4girls clinic.

KB4girls is a foundations that empowers females through the sport of kiteboarding that was launched in November 2009 by 9x Kiteboarding World Champion Kristin Boese. While the international clinic events gives female athletes from around the world the chance to get together for a fun and female experience it also motivates them to push their kiteboarding skills to the next level and possibly start to compete in kiteboarding.
Another goal of the KB4girls events is to support local charities that reach out to females in need which is done through fundraising at the KB4girls events.
The KTA is Asia’s international kiteboard competition organization. Sanctioned by the IKA, kiteboarding’s world governing body, riders receive world-ranking points as they work towards being crowned the official Asian champion.
In its third season the KTA is holding 4 tour stops and a number of one off Open and National Events to check out more Asian locations and get more riders involved. Asian Championship tour stops include the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand and China during the 11/12 season.
