The fourth-generation Prime is the full-bridled C-shaped kite Blade’s two-model lineup that promises to continue with its no-compromise legacy of high performance. Framed in a five-strut C-shape, the Prime is controlled by a four-line system with an extremely compact bridle setup—a nice feature, given that many kites shaped like this have five-line systems that deter some from trying them. The Prime relaunched much easier than some of the C kites in the test. Once the kite powered up in the upper wind range it had direct and light-touch feel, with fast turns and smooth power generation through the loop. Good unhooked pop and steady control held as the wind pumped through the kite, and it continued to bring more precision handling in this range than some of the low-end powered competitors. The Prime had fast and tight kite loops, with good pull through the whole loop and moderate amounts of flutter. Experts who want to push the limits of the upper wind range with some high-flying experiences should look to the Blade Prime as a viable option.

Lacking some low-end power
The Prime had less low-end than most of its counterparts, and until the wind was pumping through, it lacked some of its pizzazz.
