Kiteboarding gear makes a massive difference to everyone’s enjoyment on the water—SBC Kiteboard’s editorial team understands that. Over the past 12 years, the SBC Kiteboard test team has spent more time testing kites and boards than anyone else. It’s a huge undertaking, and a massive commitment of resources and time. The most recent test session in Cape Hatteras was our biggest ever with over 40 kites. It took our six experienced testers two full weeks— more than 12 full days on the water—to achieve the level of feedback necessary for the reviews in this issue. We sessioned all of the gear on the flat water and chop of Pamlico Sound, and in the ocean surf of the Atlantic. Testing gear is a much more intensive and different process than a typical day’s riding, that's why I owe huge thank you to the test team for all their hard work! Big shoutout to Shane Thompson, Dave Marshall, Daniel Steiner, Martin Milne, and Matt Aiken. Thanks guys. —John Bryja, editor.

Knock Out While in Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, the SBC Kiteboard Test Team stayed in the house, Knock Out. Located on the Pamlico Sound in Avon next to the infamous SBC Slick, this 2,800 square-foot home boasts six bedrooms, a gas BBQ, gas stove, HD satellite TV (so much better than OBX cable), high-speed Internet, hot tub and gear storage area.
